Project Coordinator, ESAF India

Education – Master of Social Work
City – Idukki (Kerala)

After completing his BBA, Devas worked for a year with Infosys BPO, where he was highly influenced with their policy of giving opportunity to the differently abled to work and earn. It changed the direction of this life and he completed his MSW soon after that. He totally believes in all around development which benefits all segments of the society and makes everybody skillful.

Currently, he takes care of two projects in ESAF India – one of them is ‘’Community Transformation Hubs” which is an after-school support program for marginalized children across Kerala and Nagpur. Working with around 800 children and mentoring 34 teachers in this process has been a great learning experience for him. The other project “Livable Cities India” is an advocacy and networking platform for promoting inclusive and accessible public space development. This project has helped him realize the importance of networking with government officials and policy level initiatives for building a sustainable model. Another great realization for him was that development should take place considering everyone in the community and empowering people should be a key aspect.
