Gandhi Fellow

Education – Bachelor of Social Work
City – Khagadiya (Bihar)
Mohd. Sameer completed his Bachelors in Social work along with which he worked as a Field Manager at a project “Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Juveniles in conflict with the law” under Ministry of Women and Child Development.
As part of Gandhi fellowship (2014-2016), he worked with 5 Headmasters and 50 teachers on their leadership skills through staff meetings and workshops etc. to enhance the learning of 3000 students. During the Fellowship, from providing coaching classes to 100 students to raising funds from the community and enrolling students in the National Institute of Open Schooling and later designing and implementing a Students Mentorship Program (SMP), he saw himself working towards a Mentee-Mentor model. This model was even piloted in semi government school in 9th class. From his personal experiences, along with the projects he did on ground, he has learnt that mentorship is an effective tool for the holistic growth of a child. He also organized counseling sessions for parents who were hesitant towards sending their girl child to schools and conducted career counselling sessions in the community for 10th and 12th class students.
After finishing Gandhi Fellowship, he continued his journey in the social sector by being a team member at GOONJ and working towards community mobilization, collection campaigns and school 2 school program etc.
