Anamika, hailing from a small town of Uttarakhand has been socially conscious and empathetic since her childhood. She always wanted to contribute her bit towards society. So, she took a leap of faith and quit her job in a pharmaceutical company to follow her heart and join the development sector.

She joined Gandhi Fellowship which brought her a new world of learnings and explorations. She worked in 5 government schools of Churu district, Rajasthan for the holistic development of children through headmasters’ leadership. She developed a broad perspective on dynamics of education system and also contributed significant change by increasing learning level of students. The fellowship equally offered her an opportunity to intervene in community and understand the socio-economic status in grassroots. She was so moved by the gender inequality in villages, that apart from schools she worked for awareness on menstrual health and hygiene as well in 5 communities. Her interest in enabling rural youth made her to initiate a project on youth life skill development called Gramonmukh with 21 youth volunteers.

Her 2 years journey made her more grounded and passionate to continue work in a social enterprise working on primary healthcare through telemedicine services. Her belief in learning and growing constantly has made her choose ISDM to sharpen her management skills and broaden her perspective.
