People are at the heart of organisations. This is even more true of social sector organisations. Working in complex spaces and addressing challenging issues, the success of these organisations is directly influenced by the individuals working there. In the process of “Leading and Managing people” some concerns that come up are keeping the motivation of people and teams high, empowering teams, conducting effective meetings, reducing attrition, holding supportive and developmental work review conversations, and managing team conflicts.

This 3-day programme addresses the core issue of effective team leadership. Using storytelling and appreciative enquiry as the key processes, the workshop will enable participants to create their own journey as a team leader.

In the 3-day workshop, participants will

  • Discover their own leadership approaches and beliefs
  • Diagnose their team’s purpose and functioning
  • Devise tools and strategies to visualize effective teams
  • Design and Plan approaches for leading and managing effective teams

The workshop will run with an emphasis on theory-practice. The participants will be expected to do a lot of exercises and apply tools and frameworks to their own contexts, and learn collaboratively. Participants will also be provided pre-reads to help them prepare for the workshop.

Who should attend

The workshop is ideally suited for mid-senior level management and leadership in the development sector who are keen to take the learnings to their organisation to improve overall team and organisational effectiveness.
