She is currently a Non- resident Senior Fellow, Brookings Institution. Dr. Ravi was the former Director of Research at Brookings India. The focus of her scholarship has been Development Economics with specific contributions in health, financial inclusion, gender and urbanization. Her research is frequently cited by leading international media outlets as well as most national and regional newspapers within India. During the COVID pandemic, Dr. Ravi has been popularly termed as India's "explainer-in-chief" by several Indian and global media houses due to her daily statistical analysis which are circulated widely.
