Prof. Ankur Sarin is a faculty in the Public Systems Group and Ravi J Mathai Center for Innovation in Education at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. His past works include investigations of the effects of social and economic inequality on welfare outcomes of children and understanding the influence of technology on the social and economic life of the marginalised. Recently, he has been working on making the Right to Education an instrument not only for increased access to education, but also one that promotes a more inclusive education system as part of the institute’s Right to Education Resource Center (www.rterc.in). He transitioned to academia in 2000 and has been associated with MDI Gurgaon since 2006, where he has held several academic and administrative leadership roles, including Dean of the School of Public Policy and Governance. His work spans citizen-centric governance, public policy, sustainable development, women’s empowerment, rural livelihoods, and capacity building. Prof. Kumar has advised government and multilateral institutions, served on several national and international committees, and delivered 50+ invited lectures. Balwant Singh Mehta is a Professor at the Institute for Human Development, New Delhi, with extensive experience in development economics, labour studies, inequality, gender, technology, and the future of work. He has authored 12 books, prepared 20 monographs, and published over 100 research articles. He has coordinated more than 55 research studies in collaboration with national and international organisations, including the ILO, UNICEF, UNDP, World Bank, NITI Aayog, and several government ministries. He is currently Principal Investigator of the Centre of Excellence in AI and Labour at IHD and a member of the Government of India’s Expert Committee on Labour Statistics. His work focuses on employment, social protection, digital transformation, and evidence-based development policy.

Bikalp Chamola is an Assistant Professor at the School of Development, Azim Premji University, Bengaluru, where he teaches in the MBA in Development Management and MA in Development programmes. He holds a PhD in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, where his doctoral research examined cross-sectoral collaborations in India's nonprofit sector. His current research centres on the long-term impact of nonprofits, using realist evaluation approaches to understand not just whether interventions work, but how and why they work across different contexts. He has also published on the ethics and epistemological limits of randomized controlled trials in development research. A mixed-methods researcher, he draws on household surveys, satellite data, interviews, and archival analysis in his work.

Byomkesh Mishra is a social entrepreneur, educator, and organisation builder with over two decades of experience in the development sector. He is the Co-founder of Medha, where he has spent the last 15 years building the organisation and working at the intersection of youth development, education, and employment. A 2012 Echoing Green Global Fellow and an alumnus of the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), Byomkesh is particularly interested in how organisations grow and evolve, how people develop as leaders, and how young people build agency to navigate their lives and careers. Increasingly, his work and writing explore organisation development, leadership, systems change, and the human side of building institutions for social impact.

Chandni Chopra is the Co-founder and Chief Program Officer at Simple Education Foundation (SEF), where she leads teacher development programmes embedded within government systems across Delhi, Punjab, and Uttarakhand, reaching over 150,000 teachers and 5 million students across 20,000+ government schools. Chetna Sinha is the Founder and Chairperson of Mann Deshi Bank and Mann Deshi Foundation, and a leading advocate for women’s economic empowerment. In 1997, she founded Mann Deshi Mahila Sahakari Bank, India’s pioneering bank for and by rural women. She subsequently established India’s first business school for rural women and has championed initiatives in financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, healthcare, sports, climate-smart agriculture, and women-led producer organisations. Mann Deshi reached one million women in 2024. A Yale, Ashoka, and Schwab Fellow, Chetna has held leadership roles at the World Economic Forum, W20, G20 EMPOWER, and BRICS Women’s Business Alliance. She received the Nari Shakti Puraskar in 2018 and addressed the UN Commission on the Status of Women in 2024.

Chirag Bhatia is Senior Manager, Monitoring & Evaluation at Adhyayan, with a professional background spanning auditing, compliance, finance and operations analysis. His core expertise lies in data and operations analysis, financial planning and analysis, and management information systems. After beginning his career in the corporate sector, Chirag transitioned to education through teaching and volunteering in an NGO-operated school, developing a strong interest in education and the social sector. Devleena Chatterji is a Research Manager at the Global Knowledge Hub, Indian School of Development Management, with over twelve years of experience in evidence-based research and development sector effectiveness. A mixed-methods researcher specializing in gender equity, climate resilience, and education, Devleena has designed and executed monitoring and evaluation frameworks and independent research projects across multi-donor programs in India. Dr. Dhir Jhingran is the Founder Executive Director of Language and Learning Foundation (LLF), a non-profit focused on improving students' foundational learning at scale. Dhir has worked in the primary education sector for almost 35 years, both within and outside the Government in India. As an officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Dhir served in policy-making roles in the Ministry of Education at the national level, as Project Director of the District Primary Education Programme (DPEP), Mission Director of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Principal Secretary-Education in Assam. He was also Senior Advisor to UNICEF India, Advisor to the Ministry of Education in Nepal and Chief Program Officer with Room to Read. Dhruvi Shah is Executive Trustee and CEO of Axis Bank Foundation, which she joined in 2016, becoming CEO in 2020. Under her leadership the Foundation's Sustainable Livelihood Programme has reached 2 million rural households, with a roadmap to scale through Mission 4 Million by 2030. With over 25 years across banking, microfinance and development, she spent 18 years at ABN AMRO / RBS and was part of the team that set up RBS Foundation India. She is curator and author of The Book of Aspiration and advises NGOs and philanthropies on funding design and capacity building.

Franey Sood is Co-founder and Chief Programs & Impact Officer at Kachi Sadak Foundation. Her journey, like Kachi Sadak’s, grew from nearly a decade of community volunteering alongside a corporate career into a deeper commitment to building with, rather than for, communities. Kavita Anand is an educator and Founder Director with over 35 years of experience in education. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), UK, and an Ashoka Fellow, she has worked extensively across school education, teacher development and school leadership in India and internationally. Her experience includes founding and leading schools, developing teacher education programmes, and supporting large-scale education initiatives across India, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. She was part of the international team that developed the School Leadership Development Programme curriculum with NCTL Nottingham and NUEPA, which trained 7,000 government school leaders across five states in India. Meghamala Sengupta is an Organisation Development and HR leader at Pravah, with over 17 years of experience in the development sector. As National Lead - Ecosystem Capacity Building, she leads Pravah’s work on strengthening organisations and the wider social-sector ecosystem. Dr. Muralidhar Deshpande is an engineering graduate in computer science and engineering and post graduate diploma in business management with over 18 years in IT industry and 10 years in academic and research. Narendranath is the National Anchor of the National Coalition on Natural Farming (NCNF), a network of over 250 leading organisations driving large-scale transitions to agroecological farming to address climate change. With deep expertise in rural development, livelihoods, and women’s empowerment, Naren began his career in PRADAN, in 1989, after earning a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Kerala University and a PGDRM from IRMA. He worked in Jharkhand and Rajasthan to organise women into SHGs and implement livelihood initiatives. He later led national and international research to distil practice-based knowledge, and founded PRADAN’s National Resource Centre for Livelihoods to influence government programmes and policy dialogues. He served as PRADAN’s Executive Director from 2017–2022. He now also chairs the RRA Network and sits on many NGO boards. His special focus is on fostering civil society coalitions. Based in Delhi with his wife and daughter, Naren continues to champion transformative, inclusive approaches to sustainable rural development.

Navdeep is a Founding Member and Board Leader at Kachi Sadak Foundation, with 14+ years of learning, community volunteering, and building alongside overlooked communities. His journey began with volunteering while working in the corporate sector, and grew into co-creating education and leadership solutions shaped by the lived realities, aspirations, and voices of communities and children. He believes the answers to a more just world lie in shifting the scales of power towards communities and children, rather than towards the systems meant to serve them. Before joining AKRSP(I) he worked at the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (Amul) and was involved in the marketing of dairy products. He has professional experience of over 19 years in designing and managing large development projects in the areas of sustainable agriculture, youth skilling and enterprise development, and rural women empowerment. During his tenure as program head of the organisation, he led the transformation of programs through promoting innovations, climate resilience, better designing of programs and use of digital technologies. His current interests include climate resilience, work & enterprises for rural youth, and civil society development. He did his graduation in computer engineering and post-graduation in Rural Management from the Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA) which is a premier management institute in India. Naveen serves as a board member on the boards of OCA and DSC Foundation and is also a member on the academic council of KIIT university.

Nayanika Das has over eight years of experience in fundraising and communications in the social sector, and is currently associated with Pravah. She has managed fundraising processes from grant proposals and donor relationships to building internal fundraising cultures and the second-line leaders who sustain them. She has worked with funders across the spectrum, from large institutional philanthropies to individual donors, and has supported early-stage social entrepreneurs and youth leaders in building their fundraising capacities to sustain their initiatives. Prior to this, Nayanika worked as fundraiser with Iswar Sankalpa, a Kolkata-based organisation that works with homeless persons with psychosocial disabilities. Neelanjana Pandey is a Statistician and Social Demographer with over 15 years of experience generating and translating evidence to strengthen programmes, policies, and systems for adolescents, girls, and young people in India and multi-country settings. Her work sits at the intersection of adolescent sexual and reproductive health, gender, education, and social and demographic change, with a strong focus on understanding vulnerabilities, programme effectiveness, and pathways to improved adolescent well-being. She has designed and led large-scale longitudinal and mixed-methods studies, impact evaluations, RCTs, and learning initiatives, working across the full evidence-to-policy action cycle, and translating findings into actionable recommendations for programme improvement and developing knowledge products.

Dr. Nidhi Pundhir is an international humanitarian services and socio-economic-environmental development specialist. In the capacity of Senior Vice President, Global CSR, she leads the global CSR agenda for HCLTech and heads the HCLFoundation, which is the CSR arm of HCLTech, in India. Dr. Pundhir has strategized as well as executed impactful programmatic frameworks that are aligned to the global Sustainable Development Goals, for the most disadvantaged and isolated communities, including environmental targets. Dr. R. Balasubramaniam (Dr. Balu) is a Member of NITI Aayog, Government of India, with over four decades of experience in grassroots development, public policy, and governance. A physician by training, he holds a Master in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School. He founded the Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM) in 1984, which today reaches over three million people, and the Grassroots Research and Advocacy Movement (GRAAM), a public policy think tank. He began his professional journey in Hindi journalism with Dainik Jagaran and Amar Ujala, before transitioning to the development sector, where he has built a career rooted in sustained engagement with communities and local institutions.

As CEO of Village Development Society (VDS), Haridwar, he has led diverse programmes, including HIV/AIDS prevention among migrant populations through the TI-Migrant project; maternal and child health initiatives under NRHM’s Udaan-Arsh project; and programmes focused on livelihoods, SHG formation, women’s empowerment, and education. During his tenure at HSBC, he worked across more than 30 countries, holding key leadership positions including Regional Marketing Head for the Middle East and Africa, Head of Consumer Products for Asia Pacific, Consumer Banking Head for Indonesia, and CEO & President Director of Bank Ekonomi.

He later joined the Azim Premji Foundation, where he led initiatives focused on strengthening leadership and management within the education system. Dr. Ria Sinha is a Senior Fellow at the Centre for Climate Change and Energy Transition, Chintan Research Foundation (CRF), with over 16 years of experience in research, policy analysis and sustainable finance. She holds a Ph.D. in Sustainable Finance from TERI School of Advanced Studies and a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Calcutta.

Her work focuses on climate and sustainable finance, with particular emphasis on financing low-carbon transitions, adaptation finance, financial intermediation, blended and innovative finance, green bonds, ESG, electric mobility and just transition. Dr Seema Murthy is a physician and a public health professional with over 20 years of experience in clinical medicine, research, teaching and practice of public health. She has worked with CCDC, PHFI and Forus Health prior to her current role as Senior Research Specialist with Aurora Health Innovations, LLP. She has been the Principal Investigator in several studies, has secured few grants and has several publications. She has a bachelor’s degree in medicine from Bangalore University and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Michigan.

Shalabh Mittal is a social entrepreneurship and rural development professional with over 25 years of experience across livelihoods, entrepreneurship, innovation, incubation, skill development, governance, and community-led development. He has worked extensively with government agencies, multilateral institutions, CSR foundations, academic institutions, and grassroots organisations to design and implement inclusive development initiatives. As Founding CEO of SSE India since 2015, he has built one of India’s leading ecosystems for social entrepreneurship and incubation support for mission driven enterprises. Under his leadership, SSE India has mentored and supported 200+ social entrepreneurs, including rural and grassroots innovators working in agriculture, livelihoods, health, sanitation, climate resilience, and women’s economic empowerment. His work has a strong focus on rural development and inclusion, particularly among women, tribal communities, backward communities, and youth from underserved geographies.

Sharon Weir is a development professional and co-founder of 4th Wheel Social Impact, established in 2010. With an MSc in Development Studies from SOAS, University of London, she has led over 200 research, evaluation, and communication projects across education, health, livelihoods, water and sanitation, and women’s empowerment. Her expertise spans social impact strategy, monitoring and evaluation, data systems, and impact assessment, serving governments, NGOs, corporates, and impact investors. She has designed evaluations using quasi-experimental methods, Social Return on Investment, social audits, participatory rural appraisal, and pre-post assessments. A Level 1 Social Value Associate and certified Social Auditor for the Social Stock Exchange, she has trained thousands of social sector professionals across India, strengthening evidence-based impact measurement and MEAL practices.

Shashi Bala Rai is a faculty of Marketing. She is a Fellow of IRMA and specialises in research in social and sustainable marketing. She has more than 11 years of work experience in higher education and consultancy. She is the first research scholar in the domain of Social Marketing to conduct a longitudinal survey tracking actual behavior change. She has presented papers at international and national conferences. My Case study “Netting profits in still waters” was one of the best Cases of the Sitaram Rao Livelihood Competition. I have been regularly conducting workshops for research scholars and faculty on topics such as Hands-on with SPSS, AMOS, NVivo, Tableau, Power BI, Research Methods, and Publication Strategies for Top-Tier Journals. She has worked with leading global brands such as Apple, Ericsson, Medtronic, and PepsiCo, supporting their compliance and sustainability initiatives. At Karo Sambhav, Shivangi oversees the Project Office, which leads initiatives to advance collection systems, R&D on the recovery of critical raw materials (CRMs), solutions for hard-to-recycle e-waste fractions, and the design of circular economy and EPR policy frameworks. She also oversees the development of strategic collaborations and growth partnerships to scale circular solutions. She holds an MSc in Environmental Studies and Resource Management from the TERI School of Advanced Studies, and a BSc in Chemistry from Gargi College, University of Delhi.

Slesha Shah is a development professional with experience in livelihoods, skilling, strategy, program design, management, and impact measurement. At Sambhav Foundation, she designs and strategizes programs focused on women’s economic empowerment, employability, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihood pathways. Previously, she worked with CSRBOX on impact assessments and capacity-building initiatives for nonprofit organizations. She holds postgraduate degrees in Social Work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and Environmental Science, with an academic foundation in Life Sciences. Her research interests include women’s agency, gender-responsive skilling, workforce participation, and livelihood ecosystems that support long-term economic empowerment.

Sonal Kapoor is the Founder and CEO of Protsahan India Foundation and an Ashoka Fellow, working to strengthen care and protection pathways for adolescent girls facing extreme poverty, migration and abuse. Trained in public health, child rights and business administration, she focuses on building the capacities of India's frontline caregiving workforce. What began with 43 girls in 2010 has grown by 2026 to reach over 96,000 marginalised girls across high-risk urban communities. Protsahan's CareVerse now trains thousands of frontline social workers across India.

Sonal Jain is a development professional with over 18 years of experience across the nonprofit and public sectors. She has led programmes in education, adolescent lifeskills, skilling, and livelihoods, working with organisations such as Unnati, Room to Read, and the Ministries of Women and Child Development and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. As the Program Lead of Sambhav Foundation, she leads strategy, programme design, partnerships, fundraising, and impact. Her research interests include youth skilling, agency-building, workforce participation, and the intersection of gender, skilling, and employment pathways for young people.

Sreya R Menon is a Senior Research Associate at the Center for Data Science and Social Impact (CDSSI), Indian School of Development Management, with over four years of experience in evidence-based research. A quantitative researcher specialising in public policy, gender, and impact, she co-leads research on data maturity among social sector organisations at the Centre. She authored the first State of the Sector Report on Data Maturity of Social Sector Organisations, based on a study of 360 organisations. She has collaborated with government stakeholders and contributed to peer-reviewed publications. Her expertise spans programme design and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on organisational capacity, data systems, and development management.

Srishti Sharma leads the Social Impact Practice at ON PURPOSE, a practice she has built since joining as the firm’s first employee. She trained in sociology, started in corporate communications, and moved to social impact by choice. That path matters: she brings integrated communications thinking to causes she genuinely cares about, across mental health, climate, education, financial inclusion, SRHR, and public health. Her work spans across development and corporate sectors with the likes of UNICEF, UNDP, USAID, the Gates Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation, ADB, MacArthur Foundation, GIZ, and Dasra, among others. She specialises in category creation: establishing the conditions for a public conversation before one exists. She helped put indoor air quality on India’s public health agenda before the country had a national air quality index. She established senior living as a category in India. Dr. Sudha Kothari, fondly known as Sudha Tai, is one of India’s recognised voices on Self-Help Group (SHG) federations and women-led institutions. A sociologist by training, she brings a rare combination of deep grassroots experience, institution-building and sector leadership.

In 1993, she co-founded Chaitanya, a pioneering organisation that helped shape the SHG federation movement in Maharashtra. Its work subsequently informed and partnered with initiatives such as Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal (MAVIM) and the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), contributing to the evolution of thinking and practice around financial inclusion, women-led enterprise and community-owned institutions.

Over the years, Sudha Tai has served on the boards and governing bodies of institutions including Friends of Women’s World Banking (FWWB), Sa-Dhan, MicroSave, YASHADA and APMAS, bringing her grassroots perspective to wider sector and policy conversations.

She currently serves as Founder & Managing Trustee of Chaitanya and continues to contribute to institutions including AFARM and Jnana Prabodhini.

Sumit Ghosh is Co-founder of Sankalp, an Indian social enterprise advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 17. A postgraduate in Marketing & Finance and MCA-certified Independent Director, he has over three decades of senior management experience with Fortune 100 companies including P&G, Philips, New York Life Insurance, HDFC Life and Edelweiss Finance. He is a UGC-empanelled Professor of Practice, international mentor and researcher who has mentored 10,000+ people globally. His research on women entrepreneurship was published by NABARD, and his work on impact investment has been presented at leading forums, including G20. Sankalp received the PRTHVI Sustainability Award 2024. Sumit is author of Emotional Currency: The Truth About Emotions and Financial Decisions and mentors institutions in India and abroad.

Sunanda Rangarajan is an accomplished leader in social responsibility, impact strategy, and fundraising, with extensive experience across India and international contexts. A strong advocate of feminist philanthropy, she champions the role of women as catalysts for societal change, with a focus on advancing their socio-emotional and physical well-being.

A social entrepreneur since 2012, Sunanda is deeply committed to grassroots interventions and believes that sustainable change begins with empowering communities from within. She currently serves as the CEO of the Omega Forum for Social Impact (OFSI), a corporate foundation of Omega Healthcare, where she leads initiatives focused on driving systemic and transformative social impact.

She is a graduate of the Centre for Social Impact Strategy (CSIS), University of Pennsylvania.

Swati began her career as a corporate trainer with multinational companies before moving into dramatics, working extensively across India and the Middle East as a theatre trainer. She holds a Master's in International Relations from Italy and has backpacked across 30 countries. Returning to India, she entered the NGO sector through women's empowerment work, which drew her into direct, immersive engagement with artisan communities over the years that followed. This fieldwork became the foundation for MEDHA, her philosophy proposing hand-mediated, culturally rooted making as cognitive infrastructure. She founded an NGO where she also runs Sabhinayam, an inclusive theatre initiative that set a world record staging a performance entirely cast with visually challenged actors.

Swetha leads the Centres of Excellence at the Indian School of Development Management. The CoEs are driving knowledge and discipline building work across Philanthropy for Inclusive Development, Social Impact and Data Science. Swetha has 20 years’ experience in pedagogy design, leadership, and growth across the EdTech & development sectors and has had the opportunity to work in diverse contexts both within India and across SE Asia and Australia. She is currently on the board of two social purpose organisations working in the disability and inclusion space and one working in education in rural Assam. She has also been a LEAP fellow, helping organisations build evidence of their impact and strengthen their narrative. She has a Masters in Mathematics from IIT Madras and a Masters in Learning Sciences from Northwestern University.

Tanya Gunjan is a sustainability professional with over seven years of experience spanning public-sector advisory, urban development, impact assessment, and institutional governance. Associated with the Indian School of Development Management, she works to strengthen governance for institutional impact and resilience. She has served as consultant to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and contributed to urban digital-governance initiatives under the National Urban Digital and Smart Cities Mission. Formerly with PwC, Tanya brings a systems-thinking lens to helping institutions translate frameworks into sustainable, measurable outcomes.

Trisha Varma is a strategy, research and knowledge leader with over 25 years of experience across social impact, philanthropy, consulting and consumer insights. As Director of the Global Knowledge Hub at ISDM, she built and led its research and knowledge ecosystem for Development Management, including Centres of Excellence and the institution’s flagship sector convening, Dialogues on Development Management. Previously, she founded and led boutique insights and strategy consultancies, advising global organisations including P&G, Unilever, Coca-Cola and Johnson & Johnson across international markets, and headed P&G Baby and Feminine Care's Consumer & Market Knowledge division across Australasia, ASEAN and India. Her work centres on making sense of complex problems, connecting evidence to action, and building strategies and institutions for lasting impact. She holds a degree in Mathematics from St. Stephen’s College and an MBA from XIM Bhubaneswar.

Vaishnavi is a Senior Research Associate at the Global Knowledge Hub at the Indian School of Development Management, where she works on research and knowledge-building initiatives in the development sector. She has over eight years of experience across the development sector, with work spanning education, women’s collectives, sustainable agriculture, and philanthropy in India and the United Kingdom. She has worked with trusts, NGOs, and higher-education institutions, with experience across research, monitoring and evaluation, programme management, and organisational development.

She holds an MSc in Development Studies from SOAS, University of London, and an MSc in Agribusiness Economics from the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics.

Vanitha Prabu is the Co-Executive Director of VOICE 4 Girls, India, and a development practitioner with over 18 years of experience in research, programme design, monitoring and evaluation, strategy and partnerships. Her work focuses on adolescent girls’ agency, gender-transformative approaches, leadership and ecosystem-level change. She has led and contributed to research and evidence-generation initiatives examining adolescent development, gender norms and girls’ leadership, and works at the intersection of research, programming and policy. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy.

Vinita Gursahani Singh is the Founder and Managing Trustee of We, The People Abhiyan (WTPA), a non-profit promoting citizens participation in governance across India, established in 2010. She has facilitated hundreds of trainings that help marginalised communities use the constitutional and legal framework to solve problems in their own communities. Her journey in the social sector goes back to 1991, spanning rural livelihoods, women's and youth empowerment, fair trade, right to information, and governance. She writes and speaks widely on these themes, including at TEDx, and has been featured in The Hindu, Times of India, and The Print. She was honoured with the Social Excellence Alumni Award (2019) and named among Her Story's 100 Emerging Women Leaders.

Vivek Pradeep Rana is a communications and reputation strategist with over 25 years of experience advising founders, boards, startups, venture funds, corporations, foundations, and public institutions across India and global markets. His work spans brand, public policy, stakeholder engagement, crisis management, leadership positioning, and impact investing. He is Managing Partner of Gnothi Seauton Advisors, a communications lab focused on purposeful storytelling. Vivek has worked with organisations including Sequoia, WestBridge, Acumen, Omidyar Network, IFC, the World Bank, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Adobe, Infosys, GSK, and the Ford Foundation.
