Code4Change is a hybrid hackathon that is open to teams from all walks of life and has no participation fee.
In partnership with DAKSH, Code4Change invites two communities of problem-solvers to address how data can transform India’s justice system. Courts in India face long delays, inefficiencies, and poor access to information. Millions of people wait years for their cases to be resolved. This year’s hackathon asks participants to use data to create solutions that can ease these challenges.
There will be two problem statements:

By participating, you will help courts and policymakers:
The hackathon will run in a hybrid format. Teams will work online for a month and come together for a final offline showcase, where solutions will be presented to experts from the social sector and data science community.
Work on real-world problems, showcase your skills, and open doors to internship opportunities with Social Purpose Organisations (SPOs).
Put your expertise to work on urgent social challenges and explore long-term collaboration with SPOs and knowledge partners through ISDM.
Code4Change is open to data enthusiasts, students, and data science professionals who are eager to apply their skills to solve real-world challenges. Whether you are just starting out or are a seasoned professional, this is your opportunity to collaborate with SPO, co-create practical solutions, and make a tangible impact.

Code4Change is an annual event, a unique platform to build bridges between the worlds of data science, and the development sector. Participants will leverage data science, machine learning (ML), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to develop solutions to a social sector problem.
Participants will choose from pre-defined problem statements in areas aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as healthcare analytics, environmental sustainability, education technology, women empowerment etc.
The event is open to teams of up to five individuals, including academicians, scholars (undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and postdoctoral) and social sector professionals with an interest in data science, AI and ML.
Get practical, low-cost tech solutions built around your needs. Use ready-to-deploy prototypes to improve your programs, make better decisions and solve real challenges.
Put your skills to use where they’re needed most. Work on live problems from the social sector, build real solutions, and see your work change lives. Explore future possibilities as a mentors, Fellows or long-term partners.
