Sandhya S. Iyer

Sandhya has a Ph.D in Economics, on “Social Security for Informal Sector Workers in India”, and an M.A (Economics), Mumbai University.

Sandhya S. Lyer is a Visiting Faculty, Development Economist has teaching and has research experience of over 16years which focuses on poverty, inequality, human development, informal sector workers and social security/protection related issues in the developing countries. She is the Chairperson at Centre for Public Policy, Habitat and Human Development, School of Development Studies and Tata Institute for Social Sciences
She is also In-charge of Social Impact Assessment Cell at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences which studies for governments, public sector enterprises, Corporate Social Responsibilities for companies and is also heads the Sustainable Development Goals research studies at the institute focusing on localizing at India, Global South and the G20 countries.
