"Happiness is a choice not a feeling"
Everyone has an equal amount of one thing. Time. 24 hours. Everyone has some dispensable time as well. Aarti believes that its only how we choose to spend it that differentiates us . Volunteering is one way. Easily the most self gratifying way as well. She is passionate about finding ways to inspire and excite people to give time for a cause- she has founded and runs Whiteboard, an initiative within iVolunteer, that brings senior level corporate professionals together as a group to provide advice and strategic guidance completely probono to NGOs in their cities. More recently, she also helped design Sushrusha ( meaning service ) a young student's volunteering initiative in schools that makes service a required component of their co curricular activities. She actively volunteers herself with the #DaanUtsav ( Joy of Giving week), India's largest giving festival.
Aarti is also the founder of Governance Counts, an initiative that helps strengthen the Boards of NGOs. Her work in governance includes identifying key Board related issues and recommending good practice guidelines. She enables NGOs find appropriate Board members as part of this. Aarti has consulted with more than 150 organisations over the two decades that has been doing this.
She is an alumnus of TISS and NIMHANS and a fellow of Board Source USA.
