A Study of “social Impact Bonds” as a Tool for Corporate Social Responsibility

This paper reviews Social Impact Bonds (SIBs) as CSR-aligned impact investments, particularly for India, focusing on sectors like health, education, and WASH. It argues that companies should transition from traditional philanthropy to structured, measurable social programs via SIBs to fulfill their CSR mandates. The article highlights SIBs as an outcomes-based financial instrument that mobilises private capital, enabling companies to become true change-makers through sustainable and far-reaching CSR initiatives.
