Redefining Philanthropy For Systemic Change

CPID is focused on strengthening philanthropic thinking and practice in India. So that giving contributes to inclusive, systemic social change.

WHY CPID EXISTS

Because Philanthropy Shapes Power, Priorities
And Outcomes

Philanthropy has the freedom to take risks and back underfunded issues. But in practice, giving in India remains concentrated around a few geographies, a few communities, and a narrow set of social issues. These choices shape whose voices are heard, which problems are prioritised, and how solutions are designed.

CPID exists to help philanthropy engage more consciously with equity, context and long-term impact, especially as new models of giving and social innovation continue to emerge across the country.

Partnering With Us

From Capital To Change

CPID works closely with those who fund change and those who deliver it on the ground.

Funders & Donors

Including family philanthropy, individual philanthropists and CSR leaders.

We partner with funders to strengthen how giving decisions are made—bringing research, field insight and a justice lens to philanthropic strategy and practice.

SPOs

Organisations working directly on social and development challenges.

We engage with SPOs to surface field realities, strengthen funder–organisation relationships and ensure philanthropic practices remain rooted in lived experience.
