Somya Nand is passionate about enabling meaningful education for all children. After working in the garmenting sector across geographies and witnessing deep societal inequalities, she shifted her focus to education as a pathway to emancipation. She co-founded Gubbachi Learning Community to improve learning outcomes in a peri-urban cluster in Bangalore.

Since 2015, she has led Gubbachi’s work in educating underserved children and empowering migrant communities. In her role, she facilitates organisational development and resource mobilisation, while remaining closely engaged with students, especially through teaching and exploring Mathematics in the learning space.

Education: Master of Arts (M.A.) in Education from Azim Premji University (2012–2014); Garment Manufacturing Technology from National Institute of Fashion Technology, Chennai (1996–1998).
