
Sudarshan Rodriguez
Sudarshan Rodriguez has over 24 years of experience in the development sector. With multidisciplinary expertise spanning disaster management, environmental sciences, environmental economics, policy, and environmental law, he began his career at UNDP-India as a Programme Development Specialist on Environment & GEF programmes after completing his second master’s from the London School of Economics. Over the years, he has worked with the UN, grassroots organisations, policy think tanks, civil society, and academia across India, Asia, the US, and Europe in leadership and advisory roles.
He has engaged in advocacy with governments and social movements on conservation, coastal and marine management, land rights, and livelihood issues, and was actively involved in disaster response and management during the 2004 Asian tsunami in coastal India and the Andaman Islands. Until March 2020, he served as Programme Director at the Mahatma Gandhi Academy of Human Development (MGAHD), TISS Mumbai, leading work on livelihoods and social entrepreneurship. He also designs and delivers Radical Transformational Leadership ‘learning-in-action’ programmes for the UN, businesses, and nonprofit organisations across multiple countries, with a focus on youth and leadership development in India and ASEAN countries.
