Ajay is a distinguished industrialist and business leader, serving as Chairman and Senior Managing Director of DCM Shriram Limited, a leading conglomerate with interests in agri-business, chloro-vinyl, and building materials. Under his leadership, the group has achieved significant growth and diversification, strengthening its position across multiple sectors.

Beyond his corporate role, he has played a prominent part in shaping industry and policy through leadership positions such as President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Chairman of various national and global forums. He actively contributes to education and social development, serving on boards and advisory bodies including Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), IIM Sirmaur, ISDM, and CSEP. His contributions have been recognised with honors such as the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Indian Chemical Council and an honorary Doctor of Letters degree.
