Sowmyaa has over fifteen years of experience in the development sector with expertise in poverty, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), gender, urban development, and rights-based approaches. An experienced facilitator and practitioner of participatory methods, she has worked extensively with communities and institutions through trainings and capacity-building initiatives.

Her work also includes participation in several participatory research studies, monitoring designs, assessments, and evaluations. She conducts the workshop on Participatory Approaches and Processes.
